surface medium level calculation

The present formula is used for the immediate calculation of medium level of a surface, starting from the altimetric levels of the stations of the square mesh grid.

It is applicable, for example for the calculation of earth movements, rain fall, speed, pressure, and in any case of research of the medium value, starting from the correspondent quoted plane.

The formula in object is mathematically exact when, in the grid squares there is only one horizontal or sloped plane; when two or more sloped planes are formed, i.e. valleys, hips, bumps, cat’s backs, various irregularities, the formula is approximated.

Obviously, in the case of more planes or irregularities in one or more squares, the smallest will be the grid, the smallest will be the error and more exact the calculation.

The formula is:

The altimentric summatory of the grid levels, relative or absolute, is put at the numerator; the number of altimetric levels considered at the numerator is put at the denominator of the formula.
