PATENT 2

DESCRIPTION OF AN INDUSTRIAL INVENTION TITLED

“AMPLIFICATION OF THE WATER ACTION TO PRODUCE MECHANIC AND ELECTRIC POWER USING THE WAVES OR CURRENTS OF SEA AND RIVERS”

The use of the sea waves to produce electric power is currently just at the beginning. The present patent of industrial invention has the purpose to increase the utilization of this energy source.

It is known for a long time that to an increase of the linear speed of the water corresponds an exponential production of energy; therefore it is convenient to augment the energy production by increasing the natural speed of the water through amplification.

The present patent of industrial invention is aimed to “capture” the natural water currents, convey them in multiple trunk-conic pipes (from a larger to a smaller section) in order to increase the water speed and therefore produce more power (see the drawing).

A helix or a rotor is inserted into the smaller section of the pipe in order to transform the energy or pressure of the water in mechanic energy, which is transferred to a dynamo or generator to obtain electric power.

This patent of invention, which amplifies the hydraulic action of the water currents, is especially indicated to be fixed below rafts anchored, made of flexible beams or placed on mobile platforms in sea with high waves. This system may also be installed and anchored to the bottom of the sea or rivers and channels.

This amplificatory works always below the level of the water, gets adjusted automatically to the ups and downs of the waves through the floats and also the trunk-conic pipe (1) swings to better exploit the energy of the waves.

The amplificatory of the hydraulic action is composed of a trunk-conic pipe (1), where the water enters from the larger section and is directed to the smaller section. This passage increases the water speed and turns the helix or rotor (5) producing mechanic energy, which activates a dynamo or generator (6), finally producing electric power.

Between the helix or rotor (5) and the trunk-conic pipe (1) is located an elastic pipe (hinged and flexible) (2), which allows the swinging of the trunk-conic pipe (1) and therefore makes easier the entrance of the water, source of hydraulic power.
